We are seeking a Full Stack Engineer (Frontend Focus) to join a large-scale digital transformation program within a complex enterprise environment in the tertiary education sector.
This flagship initiative is enhancing the digital experience for a multi-campus institution supporting over 100,000 students and staff across Australia and offshore. The program is well established with clear delivery streams and strong momentum.
This role will contribute to the ongoing evolution of a custom-built Student Portal and associated native applications, integrating with a newly implemented campus management platform. Student-facing streams are actively progressing, while the staff experience is entering a key design and build phase.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of the Student Portal
- Build responsive, accessible, high-quality frontend components
- Integrate APIs and services into the user interface layer
- Work across Java-based backend services where required
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design and Functional teams
- Support the integration between custom applications and the Ellucian platform
- Contribute to shaping the staff-facing digital experience
Technical Requirements
- Strong JavaScript experience
- Commercial experience with React
- Solid Java experience
- Experience working with JSON and OpenAPI specifications
- Strong frontend and UI capability
Desirable:
- Experience integrating enterprise SaaS platforms
- Experience in large, multi-stream transformation programs
- Exposure to higher education or complex enterprise environments
If you’re a frontend-leaning full stack developer who enjoys working in structured product squads within large-scale transformation environments, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a high-impact, multi-year program.
