Interface Package Lead – Trains/IMV/PSD– Major Rail Project (Sydney)
We are partnering with a Tier 1 global rail organisation to appoint an experienced Interface Package Lead for Trains, Inspection Maintenance Vehicles (IMVs), and Platform Screen Doors (PSDs) on a major Sydney rail project. Reporting to the Engineering & Design Manager, you will lead technical interface management through design, integration, testing, commissioning, and entry into service.
Key Responsibilities :
· Lead the integrated interface strategy for trains, IMVs, and PSDs covering control systems, signalling, doors, safety circuits, and station integration
· Develop and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs), specifications, and timing diagrams
· Manage interfaces with signalling, communications, stations, power, track, and operations teams
· Coordinate multidisciplinary interface workshops, risk management, and design reviews
· Oversee testing, commissioning, defect resolution, and safety case development
· Represent the package in technical and safety forums with clients, regulators, and stakeholders
· Ensure complete as-built documentation and support asset handover and entry into service
· Collaborate with systems managers to align design, procurement, and construction processes
Selection Criteria :
· Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering or related discipline
· 10+ years’ metro or heavy rail experience in rolling stock, IMVs or PSD systems integration and interface management
· Experience with CBTC, ETCS, signalling, radio, SCADA, and platform-train interface systems
· Strong knowledge of rail standards (EN 50126/8/9), functional safety, and accessibility requirements
· Proven stakeholder and interface management skills in complex project environments
· Proficiency in requirements, configuration, testing, and commissioning processes
· Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities
