Junior Buyer

My client are a leading retailer in the Middle East. They are looking for a Junior Buyer to join their growing team in Dubai.

Job Responsibilities

– To source product as per the seasonal brief according to the brand requirements

– To brief suppliers and designers and develop product according to the seasonal requirements

– To manage, review and maintain relationships with suppliers and agents

– To negotiate prices, quantities and payment terms according to the buying strategy

– To meet turnover and margin targets for each season and regularly review and seek ways to improve on these targets

– To work with the Technicians to resource product to benefit the business

– To conduct comp shops, review basket analysis and report findings

– To collate and analyze feedback from store and QC/ Technicians as to improvement opportunities

– To work with the Merchandisers and Buyers to produce a range review document at the end of each season

– To monitor sales and actively seek opportunities for existing and new categories

– To improve the knowledge of the store staff with regard to product features and benefits via a structured training program on a regular basis

– To coordinate with the Marketing department to ensure all published text, images and information are correct

– To travel as required to visit suppliers and trade shows for product sourcing and development
