Marketing and Communications Manager

Salt are partnered with a national, non-profit organisation and are looking for a Marketing and Communications Manager to join on a contract basis to support the delivery of a large‑scale, UK‑wide education campaign.

  • Location: UK Wide (Hybrid – 3 days per week in any UK office)
  • Contract: 4 Months starting ASAP
  • Rate: £120-£145 per day (Inside IR35)

About the Role

This role will play a key part in setting up and delivering a high‑profile campaign spanning higher education, schools, further education, youth and sport. Working as part of a central campaign team, you’ll support a wide range of marketing and communications activity, balancing hands‑on delivery with coordination, insight and reporting.

You’ll be involved across the full marketing mix – from content creation and channel management through to audience insight, performance tracking and stakeholder engagement – ensuring activity is joined up, targeted and impactful.

Key Responsibilities

Content Development

  • Create and adapt content for multiple channels including social media, websites, blogs, newsletters, guides and event materials
  • Manage the editorial calendar, gathering inputs from colleagues and proactively recommending content opportunities
  • Translate complex or technical information into clear, engaging and accessible messaging
  • Apply a consistent tagging framework and create UTMs to support campaign tracking
  • Experience creating content for the education sector is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with Canva is beneficial but not essential

Channel & Calendar Management

  • Schedule and publish content across multiple channels, working closely with other channel owners
  • Regularly review channels to identify gaps, outdated content or optimisation opportunities
  • Develop and maintain an events calendar, tracking relevant sector and partner activity
  • Ensure events and key moments are promoted through appropriate channels

Audience Insight

  • Collate and distil audience insight from a range of sources such as meetings, surveys and internal intelligence
  • Ensure insights are clearly documented, accessible and shared with relevant internal stakeholders
  • Support a consistent approach to insight and knowledge management

Data, Performance & Reporting

  • Track agreed metrics across channels and compile regular performance reports
  • Support wider campaign project management activity, including action tracking and note‑taking
  • Contribute to continuous improvement through insight‑led recommendations

Stakeholder & Relationship Management

  • Act as a key point of contact for external stakeholder communications teams
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and partner organisations across the sector
  • Support effective coordination and alignment across multiple contributors
