Our client, an international wealth management firm, is building a new Money Movement team in Cape Town. You’ll support their advisory teams by checking, approving, and releasing client payments and transfers, making sure every transaction is accurate, compliant, and on time.

This is a chance to join a growing team early. The first hires will help set up the team’s processes and train new colleagues as it expands.

The 2pm-10pm shift supports clients in another time zone, and it leaves your mornings free.

What you’ll do

  • Review and approve client money movement (withdrawals, disinvestments, transfers, and payments) as instructed by advisors, in line with firm policies and procedures
  • Release approved wires, cheques, journals, and EFTs at the custodian
  • Reconcile and verify client money movement transactions, and investigate any differences
  • Manage and reconcile client deposits
  • Liaise with custodians to resolve issues that could delay payments
  • Prepare daily reports on transactions that need coding, and work with the team to make sure everything is coded correctly
  • Follow up with custodians on uncashed cheques each month and report back to advisors
  • Train the client success team on money movement policies and procedures
  • Complete all work in Salesforce accurately and on time
  • Support quarterly reporting and special projects when needed

What you’ll need

  • Experience processing or authorising client payments, withdrawals, or transfers in a wealth management, investment platform (LISP), asset management, or fund administration environment
  • Experience dealing with custodians, platforms, or banks to resolve payment and settlement issues
  • Strong reconciliation skills and excellent attention to detail
  • A bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience
  • Clear verbal and written communication, and a service-minded approach
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Discretion with confidential client and firm information
  • Availability for the 2pm-10pm shift, 5 days a week in the Cape Town office

Advantageous

  • Experience as an authoriser, or with second-level checking of other people’s work
  • Experience with Salesforce, DocuSign, or portfolio accounting software
  • Experience training others or writing procedures
  • A customer service background
