About the Organisation:
Salt has partnered with a enterprise level organisation, operating Australia-wide, that plays a central role in keeping Australia’s energy system running smoothly. They help ensure that electricity and gas are delivered reliably and safely across Australia. Coordinating the operation of key energy networks, supporting long-term planning, and the transition toward a more modern and sustainable energy future.
About the Role:
In this role, you’ll take ownership of designing, improving, and supporting on-prem infrastructure platforms. You’ll be hands-on with automation, configuration management, and infrastructure-as-code practices, ensuring the underlying systems remain reliable and scalable. While there are opportunities to work alongside cloud technologies, the core focus of this position is traditional on-prem infrastructure engineering.
Your Responsibilities
- Create, manage, and evolve on-prem infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, and other automation frameworks.
- Build and maintain end-to-end automation workflows for provisioning, configuration, and deployment tasks.
- Support and enhance container and orchestration platforms such as OpenShift.
- Work closely with other technical teams to diagnose issues, optimise system performance, and improve platform stability.
- Contribute to decision-making around platform standards, architecture, and continuous improvement.
Required experience:
- Strong background in platform, systems, or DevOps engineering within on-premises environments.
- Hands-on capability with Windows environments, Ansible, Terraform, and OpenShift.
- Practical experience with automation, scripting, and orchestration tools.
- Solid understanding of enterprise infrastructure, networking, and general systems administration.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to solve problems proactively and independently.
- Knowledge of SCCM, Intune, AKS, load balancing technologies, or Logic Apps.
- Experience working in hybrid or large-scale enterprise environments.
