Principal Engineer (Azure Stack, Dotnet Core, React, Node)

The role:

Due to recent growth in our client’s capabilities in certain verticals, we are currently in need of several contracts.

We are looking for a Principal Engineer to lead a critical engagement for one of our clients. This is a 6-month engagement focused on modernising their Integrated Communications Platform (ICP). The current stack is a legacy “sandwich” of BizTalk, Documentum, and xPression, which hits vendor support expiry in late 2026. Produce a defensible, Azure-based future-state roadmap to replace the legacy middleware.

The ideal candidate:

Essential:

• Profile: We need a 50/50 split between high-level architectural strategy and low-level engineering. The candidate must be comfortable being embedded in a squad, performing “story-level slicing” and guiding implementation.
• Technical Stack: Deep expertise in the Azure stack (Functions, Service Bus, App Services) and modern .NET Core is essential as is experience with technologies such as ReactJS and NodeJS.
• Modernisation Standards: Proven ability to refactor monolithic legacy code into Microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Observability: A strict focus on “diagnosability from day one,” including designing for SLOs and “Golden Signals” using Azure App Insights.
