As the business continues to grow and evolve its payroll platform to meet changing legislative requirements and client needs, an exciting newly created opportunity has become available for a Payroll Product Owner / Business Analyst to play a key role in shaping the future.

About the Role

Working closely with product, development, payroll operations and key stakeholders, you will translate legislative requirements into product enhancements, manage compliance-driven initiatives and help shape the future roadmap of the platform.

It’s an opportunity to become the go-to expert for payroll compliance and product excellence.

What You will Be Doing

  • Monitor and interpret changes to Australian payroll legislation and ATO compliance requirements.
  • Drive compliance initiatives across Single Touch Payroll (STP), SuperStream, Payday Super and related reporting obligations.
  • Translate legislative and business requirements into clear user stories and product enhancements.
  • Own and prioritise the payroll compliance product backlog.
  • Perform testing and quality assurance for new product releases.
  • Partner with internal teams and strategic external partners to deliver best-in-class payroll solutions.
  • Support payroll operations with expert guidance on compliance and product functionality.
  • Develop knowledge articles, documentation and training materials to keep internal teams informed and empowered.

About You

Ideally you will have:

  • Experience as a Business Analyst or Payroll Systems Specialist.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and ATO compliance.
  • Hands-on experience with STP, SuperStream, Payday Super and payroll reporting requirements.
  • The ability to translate legislation into practical business and product outcomes.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Experience in creating documentation, user guides or delivering training.
  • A background in payroll, HR technology, fintech or bookkeeping will be highly regarded.
