Project Manager – Strategic Initiatives

Location: Kuils River, Cape Town (On-site)

An established and fast-growing financial services organisation is looking for an experienced Project Manager to drive high-impact strategic initiatives across its product portfolio. Based in Kuils River, Cape Town, you’ll work with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to deliver projects that directly influence business growth, efficiency, and customer experience. The Role

You will lead strategic, cross-functional projects across multiple areas of the business, ensuring initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to broader business goals.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the end-to-end delivery of strategic projects across lending, payments, insurance, collections, customer experience, and retail channels

• Building structured project plans with clear milestones, dependencies, and regulatory considerations

• Driving alignment between business units, retail operations, technology teams, compliance, and external partners

• Facilitating workshops, stand-ups, and steering committees with senior stakeholders

• Managing expectations across teams and resolving cross-functional challenges

• Producing executive-level reporting, dashboards, and project scorecards

• Maintaining governance processes including risk registers, decision logs, and compliance documentation

What They’re Looking For

• A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Management, Finance, or similar

• 10-15 years’ experience in project management within financial services, fintech, retail credit, or other regulated environments

• Strong track record delivering complex, cross-functional projects

• Experience in digital transformation, operational optimisation, or customer journey improvements

• Strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to influence across technical and non-technical teams

• Experience with project tools such as Jira, Asana, MS Project, Power BI, or Excel

• Exposure to retail environments or store operations would be advantageous
