Senior Business Analyst – Data Centres & Infrastructure
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst (Data Centres & Infrastructure) to support a strategic infrastructure transformation initiative within a leading education organisation. This role offers a unique opportunity to rethink how a data centre operates, including its operating model, hardware landscape, and virtualisation strategy, as part of a broader modernisation program.

- $900.00 a Day Inclusive of super.
- Initial 6-Month engagement, with possibility of extension.
- Melbourne CBD.
- Hybrid working model, 2 days in office.
- Exposure to working alongside a well-established Australian Uni.
THE ROLE:
- Work with infrastructure, cloud, and architecture teams to support data centre and
- infrastructure transformation initiatives.
- Elicit, analyse, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements across infrastructure platforms.
- Conduct current-state and future-state analysis of data centre operations, service models, and processes.
- Map and optimise infrastructure operating models, including support, capacity, resilience, and disaster recovery.
- Define requirements across compute, storage, networking, hardware refresh, and virtualisation platforms.
- Support initiatives relating to VMware, Hyper-V, cloud-adjacent platforms, and hybrid infrastructure models.
- Facilitate workshops with infrastructure engineers, operations teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
- Translate highly technical infrastructure concepts into clear business impacts, options, and recommendations.
- Support cost modelling, lifecycle planning, and risk/dependency analysis.
- Assist with transition planning, implementation readiness, and operational handover.
- Contribute to change management and stakeholder engagement to support adoption of new ways of working.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Proven experience as a Senior Business Analyst working across data centres and enterprise infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of data centre operations, hardware platforms, and infrastructure lifecycles.
- Hands-on experience with virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, or equivalent).
- Experience working across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud-adjacent environments.
- Demonstrated ability to define and improve infrastructure operating models and processes.
- Experience working in large, complex, or regulated environments (education, government, enterprise).
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work autonomously and navigate complex technology landscapes.
- Relevant certifications such as CBAP, Agile BA, ITIL, TOGAF, or SAFe highly regarded.
