Senior Business Product Owner

An opportunity for a senior Business Product Owner to lead the business ownership of digital Wealth Management platforms within a banking environment.

This role sits at the intersection of Business and Technology and is responsible for defining platform requirements, prioritising initiatives, ensuring regulatory alignment, and driving successful delivery in partnership with engineering teams.

The successful candidate will bring deep Wealth Management domain expertise and experience operating within complex, regulated banking ecosystems.

Role Responsibilities

Business Ownership & Platform Direction:

• Act as the business owner for digital wealth platforms and related enhancements.
• Define and prioritise platform requirements aligned to business objectives, regulatory standards, and client needs.
• Own and manage the product backlog in collaboration with technology teams.
• Translate business needs into clear functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Ensure platform capabilities support advisory, portfolio management, and client servicing journeys.

Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Alignment:

• Serve as the primary liaison between business units, IT, architecture, and external vendors.
• Facilitate alignment across Engineering, Design, Operations, Risk, and Compliance teams.
• Provide structured updates and reporting to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
• Support decision-making through impact analysis and prioritisation frameworks.

Governance & Compliance:

• Ensure regulatory, risk, and compliance considerations are embedded in all platform changes.
• Implement governance structures to maintain control, quality, and delivery transparency.
• Own documentation including BRDs, SOWs, RFPs, and functional specifications.
• Oversee UAT cycles to validate business readiness and platform functionality.
• Ensure robust QA processes across releases.

Delivery & Performance Oversight:

• Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure timely, high-quality execution.
• Define and monitor platform KPIs to measure adoption, performance, and operational efficiency.
• Drive continuous optimisation of workflows and client-facing interfaces.
• Manage third-party integrations and vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective delivery.

Required Experience:

• 12+ years’ experience in Wealth Management within banking or financial services.
• Proven track record operating as a Business Product Owner or Platform Lead.
• Strong understanding of wealth advisory processes, portfolio management systems, and digital client journeys.
• Experience working within regulated banking environments.
• Demonstrated experience managing backlog prioritisation and business requirements in agile delivery models.
• Strong stakeholder management and executive communication capability.
