We are seeking a Senior Data Modeller to drive critical data gap analysis and modelling work across our AI and transformation initiatives. This is a forward-looking role at the intersection of business, data, and consulting: the successful candidate will partner with business SMEs and senior stakeholders to understand requirements, map them to existing data assets, identify gaps, and structure findings into clear recommendations for decision-makers.
The Lead Data Modeller will combine a strong grounding in banking data domains with the ability to think ahead about the future of data modelling and discovery – how emerging technologies such as Generative AI, and intelligent metadata tools will reshape how we design, manage, and discover data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the gap analysis of data requirements vs. existing assets, producing clear mappings and structured outputs.
- Translate AI use cases and regulatory/business needs into conceptual and logical data models.
- Engage with SMEs across Risk, Finance, Treasury, and CIB/RBG to elicit requirements and validate data assumptions.
- Assess and document data quality, integrity, and coverage gaps, and recommend remediation paths.
- Build reusable data models and dictionaries aligned with enterprise data strategy and governance.
- Partner with engineers and architects to ensure future-proof designs, factoring in how AI-driven tools will evolve the modelling landscape.
- Produce clear deliverables (models, frameworks, recommendations) for senior stakeholders and governance forums.
- Mentor and guide junior analysts/consultants to uplift overall modelling capability.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 8-12 years’ experience in data modelling, data strategy, or data-driven consulting, with exposure to banking/financial services.
- Proven ability to translate business problems into structured data requirements and communicate them clearly.
- Experience in conceptual and logical data modelling (not just physical schema design).
- Strong consulting toolkit: structured problem-solving, stakeholder management, clear communication.
- Solid understanding of banking domains (CRM/Client 360, Risk, Finance, Treasury, regulatory reporting).
- Hands-on experience with data modelling tools but also a forward-looking perspective on next-gen approaches.
- Proficiency in querying databases (SQL) sufficient to validate and profile data.
