An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join a large, complex enterprise environment supporting critical network infrastructure across data centre, campus, cloud, and wireless environments.
This is a hands-on senior engineering role for someone who thrives on solving complex technical challenges, driving network modernisation, and implementing automation across enterprise-scale environments. You’ll play a key role in the design, deployment, optimisation, and ongoing operation of next-generation network platforms while providing technical leadership and mentoring across the wider team.
The Opportunity
You will be responsible for designing, building, and supporting highly available network services across data centre, LAN, WAN, wireless, and cloud environments. Working closely with architecture, security, infrastructure, and project teams, you’ll contribute to strategic network initiatives while ensuring operational excellence across critical services.
A major focus of the role will be supporting and enhancing modern data centre networking technologies including Cisco Nexus environments, VXLAN/EVPN fabrics, network automation platforms, and multi-vendor networking ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement and support enterprise network infrastructure across LAN, WAN, wireless, cloud and data centre environments.
- Lead the deployment and optimisation of Cisco Nexus Data Centre technologies including VXLAN/EVPN fabric architectures.
- Configure and support advanced routing and switching technologies including BGP and OSPF.
- Develop and maintain network automation solutions using Python, Ansible and related automation frameworks.
- Support and enhance automation platforms, CI/CD processes and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Administer and optimise Cisco Nexus Dashboard and associated data centre management platforms.
- Manage and troubleshoot complex network incidents and provide technical leadership during major incidents.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to deliver network transformation initiatives.
- Provide mentoring and technical guidance to engineers across the broader network team.
- Contribute to network architecture, standards, documentation, governance and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
You are a highly capable Senior Network Engineer with experience operating within large-scale enterprise environments and possess a strong blend of networking, automation and infrastructure expertise.
You will bring:
- 7+ years’ experience designing, deploying and supporting enterprise-scale network environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus Data Centre technologies.
- Proven experience designing and supporting VXLAN/EVPN fabric architectures.
- Advanced routing and switching expertise including BGP, OSPF and enterprise LAN technologies.
- Experience working within multi-vendor networking environments including Cisco and Aruba.
- Strong Wireless LAN design and support experience.
- Network automation expertise using Python scripting, Ansible and related automation tools.
- Experience with Cisco Nexus Dashboard.
- Knowledge of cloud networking across AWS and/or Azure environments.
- Experience with load balancing technologies including Citrix NetScaler and/or F5.
- Exposure to Infrastructure as Code, DevOps practices, Git, Linux and CI/CD toolchains.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and documentation skills.
- Relevant industry certifications such as CCNP or CCIE will be highly regarded.
