Senior Cloud Engineer

We’re looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer with strong AWS experience who can design and deliver secure, scalable cloud solutions while helping drive automation, DevOps and engineering best practice across the organisation.

The Role

You’ll be part of a centralised cloud team responsible for core platform initiatives across cloud architecture, automation, governance and cost optimisation.

You’ll work closely with Cloud, Cyber Security, Engineering and Development teams to deliver modern cloud solutions and provide technical leadership across the wider technology function.

Key responsibilities include:

• Design, deploy and maintain scalable, secure and reliable AWS cloud architectures
• Develop automation and tooling using Python
• Drive cloud automation, self-service and DevOps practices
• Provide technical guidance to development and engineering teams
• Contribute to cloud strategy, architecture and technology roadmaps
• Improve cloud governance, operational processes and cost optimisation
• Promote engineering best practice and modern delivery methodologies
• Act as a trusted technical partner across multiple technology teams
• Mentor and share knowledge with other engineers

About You

You’ll ideally bring:

• 5+ years’ experience in software development/engineering
• 5+ years’ hands-on AWS experience
• Strong Python development and automation skills
• Proven experience designing and building secure, scalable cloud solutions
• Strong understanding of cloud networking and core Internet protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP and HTTP
• Experience with DevOps, Agile and modern engineering practices
• Strong technical documentation and communication skills
• Excellent stakeholder management skills
• A proactive mindset with a passion for learning and improving how things are done

AWS Architecture certification would be advantageous, but equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
