Senior Procurement Manager Care & Nursing Homes

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Procurement Manager to lead and develop our procurement and contract management function.

You MUST have previous procurement experience within care homes, nursing homes, residential care or a closely related care environment.

This is a newly created strategic role, reporting to the Commercial Director, with responsibility for improving commercial performance, delivering savings, strengthening supplier relationships and ensuring procurement effectively supports our care services.

The Role

You’ll develop and deliver a procurement strategy covering key areas of spend across our care and nursing home operations, as well as wider corporate expenditure.

You’ll lead strategic sourcing, category management, supplier negotiations and contract management across OPEX and CAPEX, using spend data and market knowledge to identify savings and improve value.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading procurement across care/nursing home and corporate expenditure
• Delivering measurable cost savings and commercial improvements
• Managing tenders, sourcing, negotiations and supplier selection
• Developing category strategies across OPEX and CAPEX
• Improving supplier and contract performance
• Strengthening procurement governance, compliance and risk management
• Using spend analysis to identify savings and efficiencies
• Building strong relationships with operational care teams and senior leaders
• Leading and developing a small procurement team

About You – Essential

Previous procurement experience within the care or nursing home sector is essential. Applications without relevant sector procurement experience will not be considered.

You must have:

• Proven procurement experience within care homes, nursing homes, residential care or a closely related care environment
• Strong strategic sourcing and category management experience
• Experience negotiating and managing supplier contracts
• A proven track record of delivering measurable cost savings
• Strong commercial and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working with operational teams and senior leadership
