Senior Unreal Pipeline Developer

Salt is working with a leading studio who specialise in live-action commercials, CGI, visual effects, and immersive technology experiences across VR, mobile, and large-format displays.

We’re looking for a Senior Unreal Pipeline Developer to join this exciting business and help drive the next evolution of the real-time rendering platform.

This is an opportunity to work across Unreal Engine, VFX pipelines, cloud rendering, and production tooling. You will focus on building systems that enable mass-scale content production both on-premises and in the cloud.

The Role

• Design and develop pipeline solutions using Unreal Engine (C++, Python, and Blueprints)

• Develop and maintain core middleware libraries
• Contribute to build and deployment processes using Jenkins, Perforce, and Rez

• Update, debug, and manage custom Unreal Engine builds
• Reduce legacy dependencies and improve pipeline maintainability

• Identify and resolve rendering, memory, and throughput bottlenecks
• Optimise real-time and offline render workflows at scale

• Support Technical Artists and junior developers
• Contribute to documentation, standards, and evolving development practices

The person

• Strong experience as a Developer working primarily with Unreal Engine
• Strong proficiency in C++, Python, and Blueprints
• Experience with Perforce and Git
• Solid understanding of real-time rendering, shaders, and the graphics pipeline
• Familiarity with Agile development and the software development lifecycle
• Understanding of architectural principles such as TDD, SOA, DDD, and SRP
• Comfortable giving and receiving constructive feedback
