We are working with a global data and technology organisation helping international clients connect, move, and transform data across complex enterprise systems into modern cloud platforms.
Based in Kuala Lumpur, this Data Engineer role is open to Malaysian candidates only, supporting UK and European client projects where you will be focused on data transformation, integration and system connectivity.

Key Responsibilities:
- Extract data from enterprise systems such as Oracle, Salesforce, and Microsoft Dynamics, each with different formats and access methods
- Write and maintain Python scripts for data extraction, cleaning, and transformation
- Use SQL to query, validate, and structure data across multiple sources
- Transform raw data into structured formats for cloud platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake
- Work with existing APIs by calling and retrieving data (no API development required)
- Debug and troubleshoot data pipelines, scripts, and integration issues
- Interpret technical documentation to understand system structures and integration requirements
- Support data movement across connected systems and ensure data accuracy and consistency
What we are looking for:
- Strong experience in Python for data manipulation (Pandas preferred)
- Strong SQL skills for querying and transformation
- Exposure to AWS (preferred), Azure, or GCP
- Experience working with multiple data sources or enterprise systems
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and system specifications
- Strong problem-solving and debugging mindset
- Comfortable working in project-based, changing environments
- Good communication skills and ability to work with global teams
Nice to have:
- Exposure to Databricks or Snowflake
- Understanding of data architecture concepts such as medallion layers (bronze, silver, gold)
- Experience working in consulting or multi-client environments
- Exposure to systems such as Oracle, Salesforce, or Microsoft Dynamics
Working Hours:
This role operates on international client hours, depending on project allocation:
- EMEA hours: 10:00pm – 6:00am (Malaysia time)
- US hours: 4:00pm – 1:00am (Malaysia time)
Shifts are assigned based on client/project requirements and may vary depending on deployment.
