We’re looking for a Staff Engineer – Electronics to join a growing engineering team developing the next generation of fuel dispensing and payment technology.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role for an Electrical/Electronics Engineer who enjoys solving complex hardware problems while also influencing technical direction, mentoring engineers, and leading projects.
📍 Austin, TX | Hybrid – 4 days onsite
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead the development of electronic hardware and components for fuel dispenser products.
- Design and review schematics, circuits, and component selection.
- Guide PCB design with a focus on signal integrity, power integrity, EMC/EMI, and manufacturability.
- Drive technical projects from development through production.
- Define technical requirements and specifications for new components and products.
- Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across hardware, software, and PCB systems.
- Work closely with software, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and external suppliers.
- Support new product introduction, manufacturing, and field issues.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering standards, guidelines, and best practices.
- Help shape the technical roadmap for electronic hardware platforms.
What we’re looking for:
- 8+ years of experience in electronic hardware design and development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
- Hands-on experience with electronic circuit and schematic design.
- Experience leading technical projects and influencing cross-functional teams.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with PCB design/review and hardware manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with C and microcontroller programming is a plus.
- Experience with communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, or USB is a plus.
- Experience with EMC/EMI, safety, UL, PCI, or other regulatory requirements is a plus.
- Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
