VP of Sales Performance – Commerce Events Portfolio
About the opportunity
We’re working with a fast-growing, global B2B events organizer – a trusted event partner to many of the world’s leading companies. Our client’s platforms help partners enter new markets, accelerate growth, and connect with key decision-makers across their industries.
Their portfolio spans some of the most respected events across sectors including ecommerce, healthcare, edtech, and fintech, with an ambitious acquisition strategy continuing to grow their footprint. Alongside events, they’re building tech and data-driven products – from curated meeting programs to year-round engagement platforms – that deepen connections between clients and their audiences.
Our client offers a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture where big ideas move quickly, and where people are encouraged to challenge convention, own their work, and stay curious.
The role
We’re seeking a high-impact VP of Sales Performance to elevate the effectiveness, efficiency, and scalability of our client’s commerce-focused events sales organization. Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, with a dotted line to the President of this business unit, this role sits at the center of a diverse, high-growth, multi-brand event portfolio spanning multiple markets globally.
This is a critical role responsible for implementing a centralized best-practice sales operating model and unlocking revenue growth across regions, in close partnership with regional Heads of Growth. You’ll drive best-in-class sales processes, pipeline discipline, incentive design, and capability development to raise performance standards across the business.
You’ll be action-oriented, blending commercial rigor with strong influencing skills to deliver measurable, sustained improvement across a complex, multi-brand sales ecosystem supporting significant existing revenue with strong growth ambitions over the next several years.
Reports to: Chief Revenue Officer, with a dotted line to the President of the business unit
What you’ll do:
- Drive global sales performance for a team of ~40 salespeople by optimizing end-to-end sales processes, accelerating sales cycles, and using data/analytics to drive continuous improvement
- Develop and deliver internal training and coaching programs; organize external sales training sessions
- Lead recruiting efforts and coordinate external recruiters to attract and hire top sales talent
- Ensure strong systems adherence across the sales org, driving consistency in tools and process
- Deliver commission and incentive strategies in partnership with Sales, Finance, and Strategy
- Design contests, games, and incentive initiatives to drive motivation and performance
- Own accurate sales forecasting and implement a strong management operating rhythm for regional Heads of Growth
- Lead rebooking strategy and execution to maximize retention and repeat revenue
- Partner cross-functionally with business unit leadership, Finance, HR, and Marketing
- Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
What we’re looking for:
- 10+ years senior experience in sales, sales operations, or performance leadership
- Proven track record driving revenue growth through sales optimization at scale
- Deep expertise in sales operations, incentive design, sales training, and CRM/analytics tools
- Strong executive presence with the ability to influence without direct authority
- Experience leading in global, fast-paced, high-growth environments
- High EQ, sound judgment, and comfort with complexity and ambiguity
Benefits:
- $200K-$220K base, based on experience
- Competitive bonus structure
- Full medical, dental, vision
- 401(k) with company match
