AI Delivery Scrum Master (Freelance Contractor) – Banking Client

Brussels, Belgium | Hybrid (8 days onsite per month)

Rate: 700 – 900 per day

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a hands-on AI Delivery Scrum Master to join a high-profile AI, Advanced Analytics and GenAI programme within one of Europe’s leading financial market infrastructure organisations.

This isn’t a traditional Scrum Master role. You’ll be working at the intersection of AI, Data Engineering, Product, Architecture and Security, helping delivery squads navigate the unique challenges of AI product development, including experimentation, changing priorities, data readiness, governance and enterprise delivery standards.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Own and drive delivery health across one or more AI and Advanced Analytics squads.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies while maintaining focus on predictable, high-quality delivery.
• Partner closely with Product Owners to build and maintain well-structured, prioritised backlogs.
• Coordinate dependencies across Engineering, Data Science, Architecture, Security and Business stakeholders.
• Remove delivery blockers and proactively manage delivery risks.
• Support AI initiatives where experimentation, changing requirements and evolving data models are part of the delivery lifecycle.
• Monitor delivery health using Agile metrics and KPIs to improve transparency and delivery performance.
• Promote continuous improvement, strong team collaboration and psychological safety.
• Coach squads to increase Agile maturity while remaining focused on execution and delivery outcomes.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience as a Scrum Master, Agile Delivery Lead or Technical Delivery Lead.
• A hands-on, delivery-focused mindset with a proven track record of getting complex initiatives delivered.
• Experience working with Engineering, Data, Cloud or AI delivery teams.
• Comfortable operating in environments with changing priorities, experimentation and ambiguity.
• Strong stakeholder management skills across Product, Engineering, Architecture, Security and Business teams.
• Experience managing delivery risks, dependencies and enterprise governance.
• Knowledge of Agile metrics, delivery forecasting and continuous improvement.
• PSM I (or equivalent certification).

Nice to Have

• Experience delivering AI, Machine Learning, Data Engineering or Advanced Analytics initiatives.
• Experience in financial services or another highly regulated environment.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Jira and ServiceNow.
