Location: Remote, Cape Town (One day a month in office)

About the Role

Looking for a Business Accountant to support high-growth small and medium enterprises (SMEs) by providing financial clarity and business advisory services. You’ll manage a portfolio of clients, delivering end-to-end accounting, reporting, and compliance solutions, while helping businesses across a diverse range of industries scale efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Tax & Compliance: Submit payroll, VAT, and income tax returns accurately and on time. Manage full compliance processes and identify potential risks.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare month-end close, trial balances, financial statements, and insightful management reports.
• Advisory & Planning: Develop budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections. Advise on financial systems, internal controls, and process improvements.
• Client & Team Engagement: Build trusted relationships with clients and mentor colleagues, contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Candidate Requirements

• Musr have a three-year tertiary qualification plus honours in accounting, management accounting, business management, or related field
• Must be registered with a recognised professional body (SAICA, CIMA, SAIPA, SAIBA, ACCA, CFA, or SAIT)
• Minimum 2+ years post-article experience preferred
• Strong cloud-based accounting software skills (Xero, Fathom, Dext, SimplePay, etc.)
• Strong communication, autonomy, and problem-solving skills
