Events and Hospitality Manager
📍 Based at major stadium venue I Cape Town
About the company
We’re a business built around delivering premium hospitality and event experiences at some of the country’s leading stadiums and venues. Our team manages everything from corporate suites and match-day hospitality to large-scale event production, working closely with venues, suppliers, governing bodies and promoters to make sure every event runs seamlessly and reflects the highest standard of service.
About the role
We’re looking for a Hospitality Manager to take ownership of event and hospitality projects from planning through to execution, on behalf of the business. This is a hands-on, high-pressure role for someone who thrives on detail, loves the buzz of live events, and knows how to keep suppliers, budgets and clients all moving in the same direction.
You’ll be the person who turns a hospitality brief into a fully realised event – building the budget, designing the guest experience, briefing every supplier from caterers to security, and then being on the ground on match day to make sure it all comes together. You’ll manage the financial side (budgets, invoicing, reconciliations and reporting) as much as the operational side (production schedules, supplier management, guest hosting and match-day execution), and you’ll be a key point of contact across stadium stakeholders, governing bodies and promoters. It’s a role that rewards initiative, calm under pressure, and genuine pride in delivering a great guest experience.
What you’ll do
💰 Financial Management
- Prepare and manage budgets, purchase orders and supplier SLAs
- Handle invoicing, payments and reconciliations
- Produce financial, forecast and margin reports
- Manage the stadium’s big screen register and inventory, and represent the division at stakeholder meetings
📋 Project Planning & Operations
- Develop event operational plans, production schedules and menus
- Design event look and feel, and manage supplier operations (catering, beverage, staffing, security, parking, signage, technical)
- Run pre-event walkabouts, checks, and on-the-day event management
- Handle guest/client hosting, supplier coordination, and match-day close-out
- Deliver post-event reporting and supplier debriefs
🏟️ Area Management
- Coordinate hospitality management and site inspections across company-owned and non-company-owned stadiums
- Liaise with governing bodies, councils and promoters
- Support all coordinated events and functions
What you’ll bring
- Excellent communication, presentation and client relationship skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Sound judgement and confident decision-making under pressure
- A team player with management skills and initiative
Experience & qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ event management experience in a hospitality environment
- 3 years’ experience in event/project management
- 3 years’ exposure to catering and beverage operations
- Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel
Key attributes
Passionate | Excellent interpersonal skills | Team player | Willing to work long hours, including after hours and weekends | Willing to travel
