Our client is a growing specialist media agency that partners with leading universities across Australia and globally. Following continued growth, they are seeking a Group Account Director (based in NSW) to lead a portfolio of 7-8 strategic client partnerships with a combined annual media spend of circa $13M.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, you’ll be responsible for building long-term client relationships, driving account growth, leading a team of Account Managers and helping shape marketing and media strategies that deliver meaningful commercial outcomes for clients.
The Opportunity
You’ll be responsible for:
- Leading strategic relationships across a portfolio of major client accounts
- Driving client retention, growth and long-term partnership development
- Leading quarterly and annual business reviews
- Identifying opportunities to expand services, increase investment and improve performance
- Managing and mentoring a team of Account Management professionals
- Working closely with Paid Media specialists to deliver integrated campaign strategies
- Navigating complex stakeholder environments and proactively addressing challenges before they arise
- Supporting tender submissions, new business pitches and agency growth initiatives
About You
We’re looking for a commercially minded client leader who thrives on building trusted relationships and delivering long-term value.
You will likely bring:
- Experience within a media, digital, performance marketing or agency environment
- A background in client services, account management, strategic partnerships or client leadership
- Demonstrated success managing large, complex client relationships
- Experience growing accounts and developing relationships into commercial outcomes
- Strong stakeholder management skills across multiple levels of an organisation
- Previous people leadership experience, including coaching and mentoring team members
- A strong understanding of paid media, performance marketing and digital acquisition channels
- The ability to confidently discuss campaign strategy, audience planning and marketing performance with senior stakeholders
- Experience contributing to pitches, tenders or new business opportunities
