Overview:
A fast-growing digital media and ad tech company is looking for an energetic Campaign Manager to join its Johannesburg team. This role perfect for someone who loves digital media, enjoys working with data, and wants to learn how online advertising works from the inside out. Sitting at the heart of our operations team, your primary job is to take approved advertising briefs and accurately set them up on the internal system so they go live without a hitch.
You won’t be cold-calling clients or creating the ad designs yourself. Instead, you are the organized coordinator who connects the dots behind the scenes. Once the sales team closes a deal, you take over to upload the ads, set up the target audience, and keep a close eye on the daily performance to make sure the ads are running smoothly and staying within budget.
This role is all about accuracy, routine checking, and clear communication. Success in this position relies on your extreme attention to detail (spotting typos or mistakes before they go live), your comfort with basic spreadsheets, and your ability to update internal teams on how their clients’ ads are doing.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up, configure, and manage display, geofence, and digital media campaigns from end-to-end within the internal proprietary ad serving platform.
- Configure all core campaign parameters accurately, including budgets, flight dates, distance windows, audience targeting, and landing page URLs.
- Upload, test, and quality-assure all creative assets according to strict platform specifications and file naming conventions.
- Claim and assign live campaigns in the ad server, linking the appropriate digital publishers and inventory placements.
- Build, update, and maintain meticulous proof-of-flight (POF/PLR) documentation for all live campaigns.
- Monitor live campaign pacing and delivery daily, proactively flagging under-delivery issues and implementing targeting or publisher adjustments.
- Track and analyze core performance KPIs-including impressions, CTR, CPC, CPA, reach, and conversions-against planned campaign delivery.
- Compile comprehensive monthly data sheets and detailed post-campaign analyses (PCAs) with clear, client-friendly performance insights.
- Act as the primary advertising operations contact for assigned sales representatives, updating trackers weekly and resolving technical queries timeously.
- Attend client-facing performance meetings where required to present campaign data and best-practice optimization recommendations.
- Ensure absolute adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and keep all client folders, briefs, and campaign document storage systematically organized.
Requirements:
- 1-3 years’ hands-on experience in digital campaign management, ad operations, or traffic management within an ad tech, programmatic, publisher, or media agency environment.
- Understanding of digital advertising formats, creative dimensions, and mobile, display, or location-based/geofenced ad specifications.
- Understanding of digital advertising metrics and KPIs, with a proven ability to analyze CTR, CPC, CPA, CPM, and conversion data.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite, with a strong comfort level building data sheets, summaries, and performance reports.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a track record of catching formatting errors or pacing anomalies before they impact campaign budgets.
Please note: Due to the high volume of applications, only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted. If you do not hear from us within two weeks, please consider your application unsuccessful at this time. We thank you for your interest in the role and wish you the best in your career search.
