We are looking for an experienced Linux Infrastructure Engineer to manage and maintain our production and staging environments. This role focuses on system reliability, platform administration, and infrastructure management rather than application development.
You will be responsible for ensuring our Linux systems and infrastructure are secure, stable, and performing optimally while supporting modern containerised workloads and traditional VM-based environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, administer, and maintain Linux-based production and staging environments, with strong experience in Red Hat-based distributions
- Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes
- Administer and support virtual machine infrastructure
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security
- Manage system configuration, patching, updates, and hardening
- Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code, particularly using Terraform, ARM, and Bicep within Azure environments
- Configure and maintain monitoring and logging systems, including Prometheus and Grafana
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash and/or Python
- Configure and maintain network infrastructure, including routing, firewall policies, and monitoring
- Manage PostgreSQL database setup, configuration, performance tuning, and monitoring
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience administering enterprise Linux systems (Red Hat preferred)
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience managing VM-based infrastructure
- Strong scripting skills in Bash and/or Python
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools in Azure environments
- Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or similar monitoring platforms
- Good understanding of networking, firewalls, and routing
- Experience managing PostgreSQL databases
- Strong troubleshooting and system performance optimisation skills
- Experience working in high-availability production environments
- Knowledge of security hardening and compliance standards
- Experience improving system observability and monitoring strategies
