Senior Azure Devops Engineer

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Azure DevOps Engineer to join an established project supporting cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and DevSecOps practices, with hands-on experience managing complex deployment environments.

This role will focus on optimizing build and release processes, improving infrastructure reliability, strengthening security practices, and supporting the deployment of scalable applications across Azure and on-premises environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps to support efficient software delivery.
• Manage and troubleshoot self-hosted Linux build and release agents.
• Build, deploy, and maintain containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Support release management and deployment processes across Azure cloud and on-premises environments.
• Implement and maintain security and code quality tools, including Mend, SonarQube, Trivy, and Qualys.
• Identify, investigate, and remediate Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) across Go-based services, containers, Linux virtual machines, and deployment artifacts.
• Improve software quality through bug remediation, automated testing, release validation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and internal tooling using Go, Bash, and Python.
• Manage and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, build, deployment, and runtime issues.
• Collaborate with engineering, security, and infrastructure teams to improve system reliability, deployment efficiency, and security compliance.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong professional experience in DevOps engineering, with advanced knowledge of Azure DevOps pipelines, build automation, and release management.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and Linux-based environments.
• Proven experience configuring, managing, and troubleshooting self-hosted CI/CD agents.
• Solid understanding of Azure cloud infrastructure, networking, and on-premises deployment environments.
• Practical experience implementing DevSecOps practices, vulnerability scanning, and CVE remediation.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Go, Bash, and Python.
• Experience with security and code quality tools such as SonarQube, Mend, Trivy, and Qualys.
• Experience managing infrastructure through Terraform or similar IaC tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across infrastructure, build pipelines, application deployments, and runtime environments.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience with pytest or other automated testing frameworks.
• Experience supporting and deploying Go-based microservices.
• Background working with hybrid infrastructure environments combining Azure cloud and on-premises systems.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted code generation, secure prompt engineering, and adversarial code review practices.
• Experience improving deployment security, release automation, and infrastructure performance.
