Senior IT Project Manager
📍 Cape Town (Hybrid, 1-2 days in office)
Why this role is worth exploring
This is a chance to step into a high-impact environment where projects aren’t just about delivery – they directly influence how a well-established organisation evolves, operates, and grows.
You’ll be working on large-scale, meaningful technology initiatives with real visibility across the business. There’s strong leadership in place, clear structures, and the opportunity to own projects end-to-end, not just coordinate them.
If you enjoy working across teams, driving change, and seeing your work translate into real outcomes – this role gives you that platform.
The role
You’ll take full ownership of technology projects – from early planning right through to delivery and post-implementation.
This includes:
- Driving projects from concept to completion
- Managing timelines, budgets, risks, and resources
- Working closely with technical teams, stakeholders, and external partners
- Leading cross-functional teams and ensuring alignment across the business
- Overseeing change management on key initiatives
- Ensuring projects deliver real value and meet strategic goals
You’ll essentially be the person who makes things happen – keeping everything on track while balancing people, process, and technology.
What they’re looking for
- Around 6+ years’ experience in IT Project Management
- Proven experience managing complex, enterprise-level projects
- Exposure to both systems/software and infrastructure projects
- Strong experience managing budgets (R2m+) and project delivery
- Ability to lead teams and manage multiple stakeholders
- Experience working with vendors and third-party partners
- Solid understanding of Agile, PMBOK, or similar methodologies
What will make you stand out
- You’re structured, organised, and naturally take ownership
- You’re confident working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- You can handle ambiguity and still drive delivery
- You’re strong on communication and can influence at different levels
- You’re commercially aware – you understand budgets, trade-offs, and value
The kind of person who thrives here
Someone who enjoys:
- Being in the middle of complex projects
- Leading teams and bringing people together
- Solving problems and keeping momentum
- Delivering real, tangible outcomes
If you’re looking for a role where you can take full ownership, work on meaningful projects, and grow your impact, this is a strong one to consider.
