Our client is building the next generation of financial infrastructure, enabling institutional participation in the evolving digital asset economy. Their platform powers secure, scalable payment solutions across banking, digital assets, tokenisation, stablecoins and AI-driven financial services.
As they continue to scale, they are looking for a Senior Product Manager – Payments to lead the development of the payment infrastructure that sits at the core of their platform.
The Role
This is a highly technical Product Management position focused on payment connectivity and infrastructure.
You’ll own the end-to-end roadmap for the systems that move money, working closely with engineering teams, banking partners, payment processors and card networks to deliver reliable, scalable payment experiences.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex payment challenges and can comfortably bridge technical engineering teams with commercial stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Own the product roadmap for payment infrastructure and connectivity.
- Lead integrations with banks, payment processors, card networks and other payment rails.
- Define product requirements for deposits, withdrawals, transfers, settlements and payment orchestration.
- Partner closely with backend engineering teams to design scalable, resilient payment services and APIs.
- Work alongside frontend and design teams to create seamless customer payment journeys and clear payment status experiences.
- Collaborate with banking partners and payment providers, translating business and technical requirements into product specifications.
- Monitor payment performance, including success rates, latency and failure trends, driving continuous improvements.
- Evaluate new payment partners, processors and vendors, conducting build-versus-buy assessments where appropriate.
- Define and track KPIs focused on payment reliability, speed, operational efficiency and cost optimisation.
- Work closely with Risk, Compliance and Legal teams to ensure all payment solutions meet regulatory and security requirements.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of Product Management experience, with at least 2 years focused on payments, banking infrastructure or fintech.
- Strong understanding of payment ecosystems, including bank integrations, payment processors and card networks.
- Experience working with payment rails such as ACH, wire transfers, Visa, Mastercard or real-time payment schemes.
- Proven experience delivering integrations between third-party financial institutions and internal platforms.
- Comfortable working with engineers on APIs, data flows and backend architecture while collaborating with UX and frontend teams on customer journeys.
- Solid understanding of the complete payment lifecycle, including:
- Authorisation
- Settlement
- Reconciliation
- Chargebacks
- Reversals
- Experience delivering products within regulated financial environments.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to prioritise product decisions and improve payment performance.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Nice to Have:
- Experience within fintech, digital assets or cryptocurrency.
- Exposure to payment orchestration platforms or PSP integrations.
- Experience working directly with banks, payment processors or card schemes.
- Knowledge of modern payment infrastructure and financial APIs.
