International Business Development Manager (Cape Town or Johannesburg)

Salt has an exciting new position available for an International Business Development Manager. This role can be based in Cape Town or Johannesburg.

About the Role

The person in this role will drive multi-region business development strategy, across the EMEA & North America regions, generating a continuous flow of new vacancies with international clients, to be delivered to by in-country universe expert consultants and/or South Africa based delivery teams.

Business development activities will involve winning and onboarding new clients, as well as executing multi-region KAM strategy with existing multinational clients.

Main Responsibilities:

New business generation

  • Generating new business and delivering against your personal sales target.
  • Targeting new clients across all specialisms (Technology, Creative, Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, Consulting) and business streams (Perm and Contract), within all countries, managing the client onboarding process.
  • Develop and maintain new business target lists for all specialisms, across all countries.
  • Managing and reviewing market universes to ensure gaps are identified and strategies developed for execution with the leadership team.
  • Build a network presence through events, thought leadership, online brand presence.

Sales

  • Be an effective and persuasive storyteller, delivering targeted and successful pitches to meet client needs.
  • Develop presentations for client pitches and account reviews (online and in-person), ensuring consistent and on brand messaging aligned to company and divisional strategy.
  • Act as mentor and go-to for international business development strategy within the team.
  • Be a Jobscience superuser, ensuring best practice standards. Creating shortlists for prospective clients and researching opportunity within the existing database.
  • Deliver customer delight ensuring a positive customer experience in line with Salt’s value of integrity.
  • Monitor and provide feedback on core processes that impact on annual budgets.

KAM

  • Develop and execute a multi-region KAM strategy that supports continued growth of job opportunities.

Reporting

  • Provide regular and accurate reporting to leadership on weekly activity and pipeline.
  • Provide insight to leadership on market trends, identifying opportunity for new specializations, customer needs, innovations, opportunities and threats.
  • Provide market insights to Salt’s shape commercial behaviours.

Ad Hoc

  • Work flexible hours, to accommodate client interactions across different time zones.
  • Occasional international travel may be required.

We’re Looking For

  • Demonstrable success at generating new business, across a range of countries and across a range of client types.
  • Experience of selling global recruitment solutions, inc. contingency, retained, and RPO service offerings, for both permanent & contract hiring.
  • Broad knowledge across a range of geographies and recruitment market specialisations.
  • Ability to successfully sell Salt’s service offerings to board level stakeholders, running sales meetings to international standards.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, to accommodate client interactions across different time zones, where necessary.
  • Being a key voice in the business in building trust with our customers, enhancing their experience.
  • Build and maintain excellent working relationships with customers.
  • A commitment to knowledge sharing, team development and continual development, including self.
  • Personal and professional integrity.
  • Excellent communication skills .
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Ability to build rapport with employees and vendors.
