Business Architecture / Target Operating Model Lead
Contract | Outside IR35 | Fully Remote
We are currently looking for an experienced Business Architecture / Target Operating Model Lead to support a major Finance transformation programme within a complex organisation.
This is a senior role focused on translating the strategic ambition for a new Group Financial Planning & Performance function into a practical, implementable future operating model.
You will provide the structural thinking across organisation, process, governance, capabilities and operating model design, working closely with senior stakeholders across Finance and the wider transformation function.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop the future Target Operating Model across Finance.
- Assess the current operating environment and identify structural pain points and opportunities.
- Define future-state processes, organisational structures, roles and responsibilities.
- Develop decision rights, governance and accountability frameworks.
- Map dependencies and interfaces across different organisational functions.
- Identify future capability and skills requirements.
- Apply strong business architecture and service-design principles.
- Consider how AI and emerging technology can support and reshape the operating model.
- Facilitate senior stakeholder discussions and reconcile conflicting perspectives.
- Develop pragmatic transition states and implementation roadmaps.
- Support the transition from TOM design through to implementation.
Experience Required
- Strong experience in Business Architecture and Target Operating Model design.
- Proven experience designing operating models within complex organisations.
- Financial Services and/or Finance transformation experience highly desirable.
- Strong organisation design, process design and governance experience.
- Experience translating strategy into practical operating models.
- Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
- Experience identifying organisational capabilities and skills requirements.
- Experience taking TOM designs into implementation would be highly advantageous.
