About the Role
The IT Deployment Technician is a hands-on technical role responsible for the end-to-end deployment and configuration of hardware and software solutions for the company’s customers, ensuring every installation is completed accurately, on time, and to a high standard.
Responsibilities
- Works across customer onboarding, store rollouts, changeovers, and hardware refreshes, operating as a key point of contact for customers during deployment activities.
- Collaborate closely with Key Account Managers, the Sales team, Back to Base, and IT Infrastructure to ensure seamless delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Coordinating hardware orders, delivery tracking, and supplier follow-ups
- Scheduling and managing 3rd-party on-site technicians
- Providing remote guidance to techs and ensuring checklists are completed
- Completing remote installation and migration tasks and confirming client sign-off
- Updating and closing tickets with clear, accurate notes
- Supporting end users during device upgrades and troubleshooting post-deployment issues
- Serve as an escalation point regarding customer hardware and infrastructure. Working closely with the support team to resolve issues in a timely manner
- On-time delivery of deployments, projects, and store rollouts
- Customer satisfaction scores (CSAT) from post-deployment surveys
Skills & Experience
- Strong background in desktop support, field services, or deployment work
- Solid experience with Windows 10/11 environments
- Hands-on experience with device builds, imaging, MDT, answer files or similar deployment tools
- Confident troubleshooting skills with excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently, follow procedures, and manage time across multiple tasks
- Strong background in desktop support, field services, or deployment work
- Basic networking knowledge (Wi-Fi, switching, TCP/IP fundamentals)
- Knowledge of Datto & Knox
Desirable Skills
- MSP/Support experience or familiarity with PSA/RMM tools (Datto RMM, ConnectWise, etc.)
- PowerShell experience
- Experience coordinating contractors or on-site technicians, Vendor management
- Crowd Strike Anti-Virus Software
- Remote Access Solutions – Team Viewer, Logmein
- Autotask (Connect Wise, ZenDesk)
- Working across managing: Timesheets, billing, raising POS
- Understanding of procurement workflows, hardware lifecycle management, or vendor liaison
