Senior Software Engineer (Backend – Consumer-Facing Platform)

As the company continues to expand its engineering team, they are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help design and build core platform capabilities that support a rapidly growing product ecosystem. The Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, and scalability of core backend services that power a high-traffic consumer product. You’ll work in a collaborative engineering environment where teams ship code frequently, iterate quickly, and continuously improve the platform. You will play an important role in solving distributed systems challenges, improving system performance, and building APIs and services that support new product features and business initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable backend services and APIs that power a high-traffic consumer platform.
• Contribute to a modern microservices-based architecture running in a cloud-native environment.
• Partner closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver impactful product features.
• Solve complex technical challenges related to performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Help scale systems to support growing user demand and evolving business needs.
• Evaluate and implement improvements to engineering tools, architecture, and development workflows.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices across the team.

Requirements

• Experience building production-grade software in fast-paced product environments.
• Strong backend engineering experience using languages such as Python, Go, or C# / .NET.
• Experience designing and developing APIs and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with cloud-native infrastructure, ideally within AWS environments.
• Experience working with containerized architectures and microservices.
• Ability to solve complex technical challenges and design scalable solutions.
• Experience collaborating with product managers and cross-functional teams to deliver customer-facing features.
• A product mindset and a passion for building high-quality, user-focused software.

Tech Environment

The engineering team works with a modern stack including:

• Languages: Python, Go, C# / .NET.
• Infrastructure: AWS, Kubernetes, containerized services.
• Databases: PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch.
• Frontend: React + TypeScript.
• Observability & Dev Tools: Git-based workflows, modern CI/CD pipelines, observability tooling.

Experience with every tool is not required, the team values strong engineering fundamentals and problem-solving ability.
