Staff Engineer

Staff-level engineering role focused on architecting and owning a greenfield trading and brokerage platform in a regulated financial environment. This position emphasizes system design, technical leadership, and building high-throughput, low-latency infrastructure from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and technical direction for distributed trading and brokerage systems

• Own latency-sensitive, business-critical services end to end

• Design scalable, event-driven systems using modern cloud technologies

• Set engineering standards, best practices, and long-term technical vision

• Mentor senior engineers and provide technical leadership across teams

• Partner closely with product, markets, and brokerage stakeholders

Required Experience

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience

• Deep experience building trading, market, or financial infrastructure systems

• Expert-level distributed systems and system design background

• Proven ownership of low-latency, high-availability services

• Strong Scala/JVM experience (Go a plus)

• Kafka or large-scale event-streaming expertise

• Thrives in high-ownership, fast-moving environments
