Salt have partnered with a New Zealand’s largest healthcare organisation who are looking for a Daily Operations Advisor to assist with rostering and leave requests for their workforce.
About the Role:
- Office based in Grafton, discounted parking nearby
- Monday – Friday, 8am to 430pm
- 3 Month temporary assignment with potential long-term opportunities
- $36.50 – $37.90 + 8% holiday pay (depending on experience)
As a Daily Operations Advisor, you’ll manage a portfolio of health professionals, ensuring that rosters, leave requests and staffing requirements are coordinated effectively to support the delivery of critical healthcare services.
Working closely with doctors, clinical leaders and operational stakeholders, you’ll build strong relationships, provide proactive workforce support and help navigate complex employment agreements in a fast-paced, people-focused environment.
Day to day you will:
- Manage and urgent sick leave requests, annual leave requests and staffing coverage for services across Auckland
- Respond to roster, leave and payroll queries from employees
- Arrange cover via phone and email for planned and unplanned absences.
- Manage conversations with employees and explain decisions made on their requests
- Monitor staffing gaps and communicate workforce risks proactively.
- Maintain accurate roster information using Excel and workforce systems
- Help ensure services remain safely and appropriately staffed.

With strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach, you’re confident working with a wide range of stakeholders and managing challenging conversations professionally.
You will bring:
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with spreadsheets and large volumes of information.
- Strong communication, confident picking up the phone and managing conversations across stakeholders
- A proactive approach and ability to anticipate issues before they arise.
- Resilience and professionalism when working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Able to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience in workforce planning or a highly coordinated operational environment is advantageous.
