Salt have partnered with a major public sector regulator who is seeking a highly capable Executive Assistant to support the Deputy Chief Executive of Regulatory Operations.
This is a fast‑paced, complex, and high‑visibility role, critical to ensuring the smooth functioning of front line regulatory and operational activity.
About the Role:
- Based in Wellington Central
- Temp assignment starting ASAP to May 18th 2026
- $50-$60 per hour depending on experience
In this role, you will be the DCE’s right hand, managing daily workflow, keeping priorities on track, and ensuring continuity across a geographically split working pattern (Wellington and Tauranga).
You will also work closely with the General Manager of Regulatory Operations, supporting key organisational processes aligned to regulatory decision-making, leadership operations, and executive governance structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-level diary, email, correspondence and document management for the DCE and GM.
- Coordinate travel arrangements
- Maintain workflow and ensure priorities are clearly managed when the DCE is off‑site.
- Coordinate and support leadership meetings, Executive Leadership Team papers, and governance documentation.
- Manage and track invoices, budgets, credit card reconciliations, and administrative processes.
- Ensure intranet and internal information channels are accurate and up to date.
- Support induction processes, business continuity planning, and risk management.
About you:
You are an experienced Executive Assistant who is highly organised and has worked in highly regulated government environments.
- You must be available immediately
- Calm, resilient, and highly organised, able to manage pressure and competing priorities with ease.
- Strong communicator and relationship‑builder, confident guiding and refocusing when needed.
- Assertive and proactive, especially when working independently while the DCE is off‑site.
- Experienced in Tier 2 government environments, or Tier 3 within a large and complex agency
