In this role you will be supporting a systems engineering team that builds and operates the infrastructure behind content creation. The primary focus is hands-on delivery on datacenter migration projects, along with providing coverage for the existing engineering team across day-to-day operations and on-call. You will work alongside internal engineers, technical creatives, production teams, and external vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute datacenter migration work: inventory and dependency mapping, server and storage moves, network reconfiguration, cutover planning, and validation.
- Provide operational coverage for the engineering team, including troubleshooting, incident response, and an on-call rotation.
- Maintain and extend internal tooling and automation, including configuration management and service-based infrastructure management.
- Support system and infrastructure updates and migrations across hybrid (on-premise and cloud) environments.
- Document runbooks, migration plans, and system configurations so the full-time team can operate and maintain the work after the contract ends.
Experience Required:
- Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience administering and deploying complex production systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced global environment.
- Strong systems fundamentals across Linux (Mandatory), Windows, and macOS, including networking, storage, and infrastructure troubleshooting from hardware level through software.
- Hands-on experience with datacenter operations or migrations (physical moves, cutovers, capacity planning, or hardware lifecycle work).
- Deep experience with configuration management and infrastructure automation across multiple platforms and methodologies.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language for automation (Python/Poweshell)
Nice to Haves or Preferred Skills:
· Experience in VFX, animation, or a similar creative services industry.
· Experience working in hybrid on-premises and cloud environments.
· Familiarity with on-call and incident response practices in a production environment.
